Purchase Now, Or You May Lose More Money Later On

Erik Eckel recently wrote an article for Tech Republic titled 10 Reasons to Purchase New Hardware During a Recession and we thought that this review was very relevant and wanted to add a few additional points for our bloggers.

Here are the ten reasons listed from Mr. Eckel.

1)      Equipment still wears out

2)      Productivity becomes paramount: Outdated equipment lessens productivity

3)      Downtime is expensive : Old equipment fails often

4)      Competition suffers too

5)      Manufacturers offer discounts

6)      Consultants are more willing to negotiate

7)      Running older hardware longer costs more

8)      Interrupting purchase cycles is expensive

9)      New applications require greater resources: You still need to do upgrades to systems, if you do not maintain hardware for the upgrades it could cost more.

10)  Employee retention remains a consideration: Up to date hardware improves employee satisfaction.

These are all great points. Think about the efficiency of your company first. The economy will get better, and you don’t want to suffer because you didn’t properly evaluate the pros and cons of purchasing or upgrading your accounting software.  In the long run, not making an investment now could end up costing you more money in the future.

Look around and talk to sales representatives.  Negotiate payment plans, ask them about their special offers.  The bottom line is that that streamlining operations always saves money, and doing so will put you ahead of your competitors.  Sometimes you have to spend money to save money.
